Shaped Pad or Flat Pad?

  • Shaped hip pad (Cube, Kodiak, Wave): covers the side and front of the hip and stays put when you move.
  • Large flat pad (IceMan Universal XL): not shaped for the hip, but it straps over the side of the hip and later works on the back or thigh.

Want to ice away from an outlet? Add the Kodiak battery and ice from the couch, bed or recliner.

Tips for Icing a New Hip

  • Set up where you rest most, like a recliner or bed, with the machine within reach for refills.
  • Keep the hose out of your path so you don't trip on it.
  • Use a sterile dressing between the pad and a fresh incision if your surgeon asks for one.
  • Follow your surgeon's rules on how long each session lasts.
