Common problems and the part that fixes them
- Water leaks around the lid: the gasket is worn or out of place. Replace the gasket.
- Weak or slow flow: the filter is clogged. Rinse it, or swap in a new foam filter.
- Machine won't turn on: check the power cord first. Cords get bent and pulled more than any other part.
- Pad leaks or won't fill evenly: the pad is worn out. Time for a new one.
Questions from machine owners
Why buy a genuine pad instead of a cheaper copy?
Each brand uses its own connectors and water channels. A genuine pad clicks into your machine's hose and cools the way it was built to. Copies can leak at the connector, kink, or cool unevenly, and they may void your machine's warranty.
How often should I replace my pad?
Replace it when you see leaks, cracks, spots that won't fill, or a connector that no longer seals. Pads are meant for one person, so if a machine is passed on, the new user should get a new pad.
Will a pad from one brand fit another brand's machine?
No. Breg, DonJoy, Aircast and Game Ready pads use different connectors. Stay with your machine's brand and check the model too. For example, Wave pads are made for the Wave, not the Cube.
What size pad do I need?
Pads are made for a body area: knee, shoulder, hip, back, ankle, or a flat universal pad. Pick the area you are treating. If the product offers sizes, measure around the widest part of that area and use the size chart on the product page.
Do I need a sterile dressing?
If the pad goes over a fresh surgical wound, many surgeons want a sterile dressing between the skin and the pad. Follow your surgeon's advice.
How often should I change the filter or gasket?
Rinse the filter often and replace it when it stays dirty or the flow drops. Replace the gasket when it is cracked or stretched, or when the lid starts to leak.
